We serve as a mix of concierge, translator, educator, and advocate for our homeowner clients.

Working in concert with the architect and contractor, we create schedules for the plumbing fixtures, decorative lighting, paint, stone & tile, and appliances, providing the homeowner with a roadmap for the decisions they need to make in order to keep the project on schedule and within budget. Our team will walk you through decisions as precise as tile layout preference ahead of time, so it won’t stall your project later. This not only provides much-needed transparency for the homeowner, but also equips the contractors with the information they need to implement the desired finishes without delay.

Homeowner

Do you want someone to walk you through the complicated home-building process, translate contractor jargon, keep your project on schedule and on budget, and make sure every detail is pristine? 

SSC serves as the owner’s representative, caring for each project as if we were the homeowner. Oftentimes, while building a dream home, our clients are also juggling demanding workloads, children’s schedules, or travel. They may not live in town, or they simply don't have time to devote to daily conversations and problem-solving on specific yet crucial details. From small-scale projects to comprehensive ground-up homes, we offer clients plans tailored to meet their specific needs. Here are some standard client services:

Complete Representation & Project Management

We can be brought in as early as the architect selection process to interview architects, designers, and contractors, and review preliminary plans and bids prior to breaking ground.

Project Management

Sometimes, we are brought on board mid-way through a project that has come to a standstill for varying reasons or are going over budget or veering off schedule. We gather information from all parties and make an initial assessment, outlining a clear path forward to get back on track and to completion.

Initial Assessment & Consultation 

We offer an initial assessment of the project/plans, providing feedback and key points to keep in mind throughout the project. Because of our experience, we can help anticipate potential issues or design aspects you may want to reconsider, as well as key takeaways to prepare homeowners for a seamless process.

Contractor

Want to improve your client's home-building experience, so that they are prepared for crucial decisions and feel informed and enthusiastic throughout the process? 

Add enhanced personalized client service, someone who knows the process and can manage the client’s decisions-making so the superintendent can focus on building the house. Perhaps you have a lean staff and need assistance with one-on-one client attention and improved communication. We can enhance your client’s experience by serving as the liaison between superintendent and homeowner. We help manage the finish selections and schedules to ensure deadlines are met, budgets are on target, and homeowners are happy.

Architect

Do your clients want a highly customized, hands-on home-building experience? Do they need an increased level of guidance, improved frame of reference for decision-making, and a more personalized home-building experience?

We can be involved early in the process, providing supplemental guidance to your clients. Having an owner’s representative who understands the complexities of plans, as well as the homeowners’ functional needs, streamlines the process for all parties, delivering a higher level of comfort to the homeowners from the start. And when owner’s trust the process and the recommendations, they often take exciting design risks that yield exquisitely beautiful rewards.

 

Contractor & Architect

Perhaps you have a client whom you know needs guidance, a more detailed understanding of the process, reassurance, or increased involvement. Or maybe they have a difficult time making decisions, are too busy, live out of town, or simply don't have the time to focus on the minutiae, but they want every detail to be perfect. 

Keep your project on schedule and within budget—and keep your client happy—by bringing in an owner’s  representative. We assist in the management of the homeowner’s decisions, improve their experience, and ensure their satisfaction with the end product.

 

Our clients have quickly discovered that their investment in our services positively impacts the final budget, timeline, and overall experience. No two jobs are the same, so we formulate our fee based on the scope of the project. We offer hourly rates, as well as flat fees, or percentage of total construction.
